Parent Volunteers are an important part of life

here at Heritage School,

we need YOU!

Heritage School welcomes and values the dedication and service of our parent volunteers. Recently, the state of Pennsylvania enacted and subsequently amended new Child Protective Services laws that mandates specific clearances for adults who are individually responsible for the welfare of a minor or have "direct volunteer contact with children" (care, supervision, guidance or control of children) and have regular and repeated interaction with children that is integral to a person's volunteer responsibility.

Heritage School is requiring the following clearances and forms by their first day of serving as a volunteer.

**PA Department of Education is responsible for approving adults who intend to volunteer in a school or at a school related function.

Church of the Saviour has not been able to confirm that the clearances from the Department of Education and the Department of Human Services (required for non-school volunteers) is reciprocal. This website will be updated once we receive a response.

Clearance requirements for individual volunteers or volunteer positions may be modified at any time by the Heritage School Director, the Heritage School Board or Church of the Saviour.

Why are clearances necessary?

It is the law and deters potential predators from access to our children, while protecting our children, volunteers and school.

Any questions you have regarding this process should be directed to Church of the Saviour's HR Manager, Cindy Casey. She can be reached at 610.688.6338. Any questions regarding volunteer responsibilities that would require clearances should be directed to the Heritage School office.

How often must I renew my clearances?

Currently the law requires that all clearances be no older than 60 months.
