Do not send your child to school if he/she is ill, coughing, sneezing or has a runny nose.  Please call the school if your child has an infectious disease, other than a cold so that we may take steps to protect other students in the school if necessary.  It is particularly important that you immediately report cases of head lice, so that a general outbreak does not occur.

Below is a guide to follow for some common diseases to determine how long your child should remain at home.

  • Has been free from diarrhea for 24 hours or has had a regular bowel movement.
  • Has been fever-free without medication for 24 hours.
  • Has had at least 4 doses of antibiotic over a 24 hour period (for any type of strep or bacterial infection).
  • Is no longer vomiting and has eaten and retained a meal.
